Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem are the proud parents of a baby girl.
Penélope Cruz has given birth to a daughter.
The Spanish actress and her husband Javier Bardem welcomed their second child into the world after she checked into Ruber Internacional hospital in Madrid yesterday.
Hola.com confirms the Hollywood stars now have a daughter, who is a sister for their two-year-old son Leonardo.
No further details about the new arrival are known at the moment.
Penélope and Javier were spotted at the Los Veranos de la Villa Music Festival in Madrid on Saturday. She wore a tight white top which drew attention to her large baby bump, leading to speculation she would be giving birth soon.
The couple are known for keeping their personal life private, with Penélope repeatedly refusing to answer questions about her son since his birth. She previously explained she does not want her family to be born into stardom and will encourage them to follow their own path.
“I want my son and my kids – if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible,” she explained.
“The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”
Penélope and Javier’s new baby arrived on the same day as Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her and Prince William’s first son, the Prince of Cambridge.
