Selena Gomez is no longer romantically involved with Justin Bieber and is content being single.
Selena Gomez says “success is nothing” without someone to share it with.
The singer dated pop star Justin Bieber on-and-off since 2011 but has confirmed they are currently not in a relationship together.
Selena opened up to TV presenter Ryan Seacrest for a special E! interview, where she discussed what she learned from dating such a high-profile celebrity.
“You are who you surround yourself with. I know that’s such a cliché quote, but it’s true. I’ve just witnessed it too much [with other Hollywood stars’ relationships],” Selena explained.
“At the end of the day, success is nothing if you don’t have the right people to share it with – you’re just gonna end up lonely. I learned a lot [from dating Justin]. I learned that I should definitely keep it way more private next time. [Since we split] I’ve had my moments. It’s fun to go to some of the parties and it’s just fun to meet people.”
Selena feels she now knows what she wants out of a relationship. The brunette beauty finds trustworthy men the most attractive.
“Honesty,” Selena answered about what she looks for in a guy. “Egos turn me off, big time. I mean it’s hard to just date in this industry, it really is, because it doesn’t have to be anything serious, it can just be something fun – and it should be because I’m young – but, you just can’t really help the people that you meet or that you fall in love with or that you wanna date. I want someone who can make me laugh and just be normal and understand my lifestyle and how I wanna live it. I think I’m OK with being content right now. I think that’s what I’m happy with and then whatever happens, happens.”
Selena turns 21 today and shared her birthday plans with Ryan. She joked that she’s looking forward to ordering a large red wine at her party.
“I’ll have a birthday party but I’ll have a dinner on the actual birthday and I will order my first glass at a restaurant,” she excitedly finished.
