Jessica Chastain can’t believe how successful she’s become because memories of being bullied as a child still haunt her.
Jessica Chastain believes she’s “paid her dues” as a redhead.
The 36-year-old star catapulted to fame with her best supporting actress Oscar win for The Help after spending many years as a struggling actress.
Despite making it big, Jessica’s childhood still haunts her.
The most vivid memories involve being bullied for her mane of red hair but she’s learnt not to be so self-conscious as she’s aged.
“I was very unhappy as a child, but I grew up and I was like, ‘I have red hair and I love it!’ So I paid my dues!” she told America’s Life & Style magazine.
Getting invitations to glamorous events and chic fashion shows still surprises the star.
The actress was “shocked” when she was asked to Paris to view the latest collections on the catwalks.
“They flew me and a friend and put me up in the Crillon hotel, and it was beautiful,” she gushed.
The star isn’t taking such treatment for granted.
“The whole time I was like, ‘Jessica, don’t get used to this!’” she mused.
Jessica’s success shows no signs of waning as she has several projects in the works through 2015.
She will next be seen in the title role in Ned Benson’s The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers.
Both films are set for release later this year.
