Josh Duhamel is planning to spend as much time as possible with his child when Fergie gives birth.
Josh Duhamel will go “crazy” if he can’t spend time with his new baby.
The actor and his singer wife Fergie are currently expecting their first child. Josh can’t wait to be a father and has vowed to put his career on hold for a while when the tot arrives in the autumn.
“I plan on taking as much time as I can off just before and as much time as possible after,” he told ET Canada. “I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there, that would just drive me crazy.”
It is believed the couple are having a boy, after Josh constantly referred to the new arrival as “he” while talking about childproofing their home earlier this year.
Fergie and Josh married in January 2009 after five years of dating, and he recently revealed that being a dad will be his “greatest life achievement”. The Black Eyed Peas singer announced the happy news on Twitter in mid-February and the 38-year-old star later revealed she was “thrilled” to be starting a family.
Josh has also been discussing his role in the independent drama Strings.
The 40-year-old actor will star alongside Laura Dern and Maria Bello as a counsellor to a drug addict DJ.
Josh has joked he was surprised to land the part in the film.
“It was really awesome that somebody believed I could play a counsellor. I said, ‘Really! You think me? I shouldn’t be counselling anybody,’” he laughed. “It’s nice to be able to do things outside of what people [normally] see you as.”
