Amanda Bynes: I'm a hero

Amanda Bynes has "never been more excited" than she is after having surgery to remove webbing between her eyes.

Amanda Bynes has dubbed herself a “hero” for living with webbing between her eyes for so long.

The actress’ bizarre behaviour has made her the subject of many headlines in recent months. She has claimed Rihanna was to blame when Chris Brown assaulted her and been arrested for drug use.

Amanda is now trying to re-launch herself as a musician so is making some changes to her appearance. She is often seen out in platinum blonde wigs and has undergone a series of plastic surgeries on her nose. The actress has used Twitter to explain how much the operations have boosted her confidence

“I was born with a webbing in between my eyes. That was a birth defect that I had surgically removed! I’ve never been more excited! Now I need a few more surgeries to shave the bridge down to correct the rest of my nose so I can start the next chapter of my career! Music!” she wrote.

“I consider myself to be a hero to have suffered 27 years with a birth defect and to just now have it surgically removed!”

Amanda added she was too self-conscious and “embarrassed” to talk about the issue in the past. Now it has been removed she is taking other steps to change her look as she has decided to be more open in the hope it will help others.

She knows many will think her problem is insignificant but insists it is comparable to another issue some people are born with.

“My doctors are heroes who also correct kids who have cleft lip – something as traumatic as webbing in between your eyes!” she wrote.

“I wanted to share my story with you to prove that I’m not crazy, I was just embarrassed. Surgery is a complete miracle for me – nothing can hold you back from living out your dreams. There’s a surgery for everything that’s wrong with you!”

The star added she will check into a clinic on Saturday to go under the knife again.

Amanda has been extremely vocal about her desire to become a rapper, leading to speculation she had signed a deal with hip-hop label Chinga Chang Records. It was claimed former Fugees star Wyclef Jean had already been lined up to work on her debut single, with the pair said to have met on Monday to discuss the track.

Wyclef’s management have insisted the story is untrue, telling TMZ he has never even spoken to Amanda.

She has also dismissed the report, telling her Twitter followers she has “an offer for a bigger record deal” which she’ll take up once her operations are complete.
