Ne-Yo isn’t angry that Beyoncé Knowles is taking a long time to complete her next album because she is a perfectionist.
Ne-Yo claims Beyoncé Knowles is still “figuring out” her upcoming album.
The singer is working on her fifth record but apparently is not happy with the results.
Ne-Yo is helping the singer out and insists she is very particular about what she wants.
“I’m still putting stuff together for Beyoncé’s album,” he told Billboard magazine. "They’re still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I’m not mad at.
“Beyoncé’s the kind of artist where you’re not gonna see it till it’s right. And her fans – they love her so they’ll be patient."
Ne-Yo teamed up with the former Destiny’s Child front woman for her 2007 hit Irreplaceable.
The performer has been taking part in secret songwriting sessions in the Hamptons since last summer.
Writers and producers such as Ryan Tedder, The-Dream, Greg Kurstin and Sia teamed up with her for more than a week to collaborate on potential tunes.
Songs Grown Woman and Standing On The Sun have featured in commercials for cola drink Pepsi and fashion store H&M, respectively.
Plus Rise Up is on the soundtrack for animated motion picture Epic in which she provides the voice of Queen Tara.
Ne-Yo is also waiting to see if his work will be used by Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z on his new album.
The rapper’s LP entitled Magna Carta Holy Grail is due out on July 4.
“The thing about Jay is again you don’t know until it’s done,” he admitted.
“I went in, I did a session where I laid down a couple hooks but I have no idea what’s going to be kept. I heard some of the new stuff. It’s amazing. With Jay-Z it’s hard not to be amazing.”
