David Beckham has a host of plans he wants to fulfill with his family now he has retired from playing soccer.
David and Victoria Beckham have plenty of “family plans” to fulfil.
The 38-year-old English soccer star announced his retirement last week. Now David is hanging up his soccer boots, he will have more time to spend with Victoria and their four kids.
“The time has come for David to reconnect with his family. His children and Victoria have all missed him,” a source told British magazine Grazia. “They have lots of plans they want to fulfil as a family, and he doesn’t want to be an absent parent for his children’s future.”
Last week, David said it was the “right time” to retire from playing soccer.
The family returned to the UK in January after David left his Los Angeles club. He went on to sign a short-term deal with Paris Saint-Germain and had been splitting his time between France and London, where Victoria and the kids are based.
This living arrangement proved to be difficult for Victoria, who had to juggle her parenting responsibilities with running a successful fashion empire.
“Victoria has struggled to look after four kids, especially a two-year-old and a teenage son, as well as carry on the commitment to her business,” the source explained. “Yes, she’s had help, but she is very hands on and does the school run and puts the kids the bed. It’s been a very hard five months.”
Victoria said she was “so proud” of her husband following his announcement.
She praised David for being a “devoted father” and said the family were looking forward to be exploring new “adventures” together.
The couple still own a mansion in Los Angeles and there is speculation they may decide to return to the US. It has been rumoured Victoria would be interested in relocating to New York, where she could expand her business and David may invest in a sports club.
“It’s all change now. They will all enjoy a holiday in LA for half term and then we’ll have to wait and see,” added the insider.
