Ioan Gruffudd wary of 'wannabes'

Fantastic Four star Ioan Gruffudd gets on better with big-name actors than "wannabes".

Ioan Gruffudd believes bigger stars are nicer than “wannabes”.

The Fantastic Four actor has worked with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio on Titanic and Glenn Close on 102 Dalmatians.

According to Ioan, industry heavyweights are actually the easiest to get along with.

“I think it’s because the bigger stars know they don’t have anything to prove,” he explained to the British edition of OK! magazine.

“They’ve achieved everything they wanted and they’ve done it all. It’s wannabes who let it all go to their heads because they haven’t quite achieved the status they want in the industry.”

Ioan had a small role in the 1997 smash hit movie Titanic.

His famous co-star Leonardo still recognises him today.

“He’s such a lovely guy and an amazing actor,” the 39-year-old gushed.

“Whenever I see him he always remembers our time together – even though it was about 15 years ago now.”

The actor currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Alice Evans.

He’s been a Hollywood resident for ten years now, which is a contrast to his former life in Wales.

“Yes, it’s pretty different! I don’t think you can even compare the two because it’s two opposite worlds we’re talking about,” he laughed.

“Whenever you see a big star in LA or somebody who is doing well for themselves, it’s because they’ve worked hard for it. Nothing is handed out for free.”
