Shakira is pleased she looks "decent" so soon after becoming a mother.
Shakira fears she “still has a long way to go” to regain her pre-pregnancy body.
The Columbian singer and her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Piqué welcomed their son Milan into the world in January. Shakira was quickly back to work in her new role as a judge of US TV show The Voice.
She attended a party to celebrate the programme in Hollywood this week, where she spoke about her battle to ditch her baby weight.
“I look decent,” she is quoted as saying by British newspaper The Sun. “I still have a long way to go. I still have a few pounds over to lose.”
The event was held at the House of Blues venue and the 36-year-old star has happy to chat about motherhood with her fans. Shakira is in awe of her son and can’t believe how much he changes every day.
“He’s great. He’s so mellow, but he’s very alert too,” she gushed. “It’s like he knows what’s going on around him. He knows when someone comes in the room or comes out. He’s something.”
Shakira’s panel co-stars Blake Shelton, Usher and Adam Levine were also at the party.
She insisted that while being a working parent has taken some getting used to, she is pleased with the way she’s handled the change to her life.
“It’s part of motherhood you know. You got to figure it out as you go,” she explained.
The star copes by spending as much time as possible with Milan, even bringing him on set. Host of the singing contest Carson Daly has previously joked Shakira has ditched the usual trailer, turning hers into a special nursery for her son.
