Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from Jersey Shore has been taken to hospital after falling ill at an alcohol event with kidney stones.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been hospitalised due to kidney problems.
The former Jersey Shore star was admitted for kidney stones treatment while in Orlando, Florida.
The 27-year-old is expected to be in medical care for a few days until he is well enough to leave.
“Ronnie was admitted to an Orlando area hospital late Saturday night,” his representative told People magazine.
“He’s in a lot of pain and is expected to remain there for several days.”
His on-and-off girlfriend since the series began in 2009, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, rushed to his bedside, according to reports.
While the 26-year-old hasn’t commented on how her partner is doing, Ronnie tweeted “Wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone! #KidneysFML”.
He was in Orlando to promote his new alcohol line called Smush Cocktails.
He was apparently at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Convention at the weekend when “he started feeling uncomfortable”.
Ronnie and his Jersey Shore co-stars were known for their wild partying ways and excessive drinking while on the MTV programme.
His co-star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was admitted to rehab last year due to a relapse with existing addiction problems.
“It’s a very painful condition,” his spokesperson added, “but he’s being treated.”
