Emma Watson felt a lot of pressure when collecting her MTV Trailblazer Award yesterday.
Emma Watson took inspiration from Emma Stone for her acceptance speech at last night’s MTV Movie Awards.
The British actress took home the Trailblazer Award at the ceremony yesterday and was also nominated in the Best Kiss and Best Female Performance categories.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower star, who turns 23 today, may have looked confident on stage but admits she felt the nerves kick in when she picked up the accolade and even looked to fellow A-listers for help with her speech.
“It was so nice and it was just amazing. I never really won anything like this before, so I really felt like I had to really consider it and I felt, like, a lot of pressure,” she explained to MTV.
“I was actually here last year when Emma Stone won [the Trailblazer Award], and she gave this awesome speech and I felt really inspired. And so it took a little while. But when you’re up there, it’s a completely different thing. It’s really, really nerve-racking.”
Helping to calm her nerves were her co-stars Eddie Redmayne and Logan Lerman, who presented the award to Emma.
The pretty star shone in a dress by French designer Maxime Simoëns at the bash and managed to deliver her speech to perfection.
The event was hosted by Rebel Wilson and saw Bradley Cooper win Best Male Performance for his role in Silver Linings Playbook as well as Best Kiss with co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
