Kim Kardashian’s divorce settlement talks with estranged husband Kris Humphries were fruitless and the pair will go to trial in May as scheduled.
Kim Kardashian’s divorce settlement talks were fruitless.
The 32-year-old reality star and her estranged husband, 28-year-old professional basketball player Kris Humphries, are currently embroiled in a bitter separation battle.
Following a mere 72-days spent together as man and wife, their marriage collapsed.
Kris has refused to walk away with a simple dissolution. He is seeking an annulment amid claims the wedding was fraudulent and Kim used their marriage for publicity.
Radar Online reports Kris did not show up to Friday’s mandatory court-ordered discussion in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Judge Goldberg was so infuriated by the athlete’s absence he set a sanction hearing, which means Kris could be fined for not turning up.
A settlement on the matter of the divorce between Kim and Kris was not reached as discussions did not move forward with the basketball player in absentia.
The pair are required to attend a pre-trial readiness/settlement conference on April 19 in preparation for their trial, which is to commence May 6.
Apparently Kim won the magistrate’s favour, as she arrived on time and answered all his questions.
All parties were expected to arrive at the courthouse at 8:30am, but Kris was not there because he claims to have been stuck in New York City.
The website reports Judge Goldberg “went nuclear” claiming Kris “mocked and disrespected the court” by not catching a flight to the West Coast.
