Selena Gomez has maintained that her new song Come & Get It is not about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
Selena Gomez denies ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber is the subject of her new track Come & Get It.
Lyrics contained in the 20-year-old actress’ recently released single has sparked speculation that it was written with her famous former beau in mind.
But the Spring Breakers star claims reports could not be further from the truth.
“Honestly to be 100 per cent real, it’s not really about a specific person,” she told Ryan Seacrest during an interview on his radio show Monday.
“The reason why I wanted this to be the first single was because it exudes confidence and strength and that is something I’m willing to share with the world, that’s the place I want to be in, I want to represent something good and be a good example. So, I think it’s fun."
The song’s lyrics include the lines: “I love you too much, much to hide you, this love ain’t finished yet. Even if you knock it, ain’t no way to stop it. Forever you’re mine, baby, I’m addicted; no lie.”
Come & Get It is the lead single from Selena’s album which will be released this summer.
After splitting from Justin at Christmas following a two-year relationship, she has remained single.
The star confesses she has not even been asked out by a man in the past couple months.
“None [have invited me on a date]…No you should believe it. I would tell you, Ryan. I am available,” Selena said.
