Amanda Bynes has threatened to sue Us Weekly magazine and online celebrity blog Perez Hilton for publishing unflattering reports about her recent behaviour and bizarre tweets.
Amanda Bynes threatens to sue two celebrity news outlets for publishing unflattering reports about her recent behaviour.
The 26-year-old former television star has been subject to critical reports mocking a series of bizarre tweets and photos posted by the actress on recent occasion.
Online Celebrity blog Perez Hilton has suggested she is mentality unstable while Us Weekly on Wednesday used photos of Amanda walking in New York City covering her face with a shirt as ammunition for another scathing report.
Eyewitnesses told the American tabloid the actress was “pretending to be a ghost”.
She took to Twitter on Thursday to slam both outlets and threaten legal action.
“I’m suing @usweekly & @perezhilton for continuing to act like I’m doing something wrong by tweeting and walking to photoshoots. F**k you!!!!” she wrote.
The former child star has won unfavourable headlines in recent months stemming from run-ins with the law.
She faced five criminal charges after a series of erratic driving incidents in 2012 – two counts of misdemeanour hit-and-run, driving under the influence and two counts of driving with a suspended licence stemming from incidents in Los Angeles.
The ex child star is believed to have settled with at least one of the victims and got the charges dismissed, according to Radar Online.
She subsequently moved to New York to pursue a career as a fashion designer, and earned column inches for her eclectic wardrobe choices, often including blonde wigs, talon fingernails, large sunglasses and most recently, cheek piercings.
In February it was reported she was forced to move out of her apartment after receiving an eviction threat.
An insider told TMZ Amanda was considered to be a “building nuisance” and neighbours were complaining about marijuana smoke wafting from her apartment “morning, noon and night”.
Worrying reports began to surface as she took to Twitter to share random musings.
“I want @drake to murder my vagina,” read one such message tweeted on March 22.
On Tuesday she posted a photo of herself posing in a mirror wearing a blonde wig, floral bustier and flared skirt.
“Looking pudgy and I broke my nail #GirlProblems,” she wrote.
A legal representative for Amanda has yet to address her most recent claims.
