Lindsay Lohan has been fined for failing to appear at a deposition for a civil lawsuit filed against her by a photographer.
The 26-year-old actress was due to be deposed on Tuesday morning by lawyers hired by paparazzo Grigor Baylan.
RadarOnline reports Lindsay was a no-show.
Judge Ronald Sohigian fined the actress $1,000 for misconduct and rescheduled the deposition at the office of Grigor’s lawyer on April 8.
The photographer claims he was injured when a car Lindsay was riding in ran over his foot in January 2010, causing him to suffer at least $25,000 in damages.
It is not believed she was behind the wheel at the time.
The lawsuit names Lindsay, Paola Demara and Tri Star Sports Entertainment.
Court documents obtained by Radar allege Lindsay was not willing to voluntarily appear for the deposition.
“Plaintiff served a notice of deposition, setting defendants deposition for Jan. 31, 2013. On Jan. 30, 2013, defense counsel wrote plaintiff’s counsel and stated that defendant would not be appearing for the deposition, as it was defense counsel’s ‘understanding’ that defendant ‘is out of state,’” papers read.
Lindsay was in Los Angeles at the time for a pre-trial criminal hearing.
She also faces charges of lying to police about being behind the wheel during a car accident last June.
Lindsay faces 245 days in jail should she be found of lying and thus violating her probation stemming from a 2011 jewellery theft case.
The actress’ criminal attorney, Mark Heller, filed for a continuance in that case earlier this week.
A pre-trial hearing is currently scheduled for Friday.
Lindsay is not required to attend.
The trial is scheduled to begin on March 18.
