Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are reportedly being investigated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The couple were heading home from Brazil on Tuesday and were catching a connecting flight from John F Kennedy airport in New York City to LAX international airport in Los Angeles.
TMZ reports that at JFK, Kim and Kanye were trying to catch their plane to Los Angeles rapidly and a TSA agent allowed them to bypass security initially.
The pair did in fact board their plane to L.A., but another TSA agent took them off the flight immediately at the knowledge that they did not undergo thorough security checks.
Apparently the incident is now under investigation.
“An airline employee escorted the two travellers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight,” the TSA told TMZ.
“In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travellers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway.
“The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident.”
The pair managed to arrive to Los Angeles safe and sound.
It is unknown whether the TSA agent that ushered them to their connecting flight will be penalised for this action.
