One Direction ‘delighted’ with Kids’ Choice nods

One Direction are “delighted” to have been nominated at Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.
The British five-piece – comprising Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne – appear in two major categories at the annual awards ceremony.
One Direction are in the running for Favourite Musical Group alongside Big Time Rush, Bon Jovi and Maroon 5.
The heartthrobs have also been recognised in the Favourite Song category for their storming hit What Makes You Beautiful. Other nominees in the category include Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, Gangnam Style by PSY and Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Harry revealed he and his bandmates are thrilled to be part of the popular awards bash for the second time running.
“We are delighted with our nominations for the Kids’ Choice Awards,” Harry gushed to People in a statement. “It was amazing to perform What Makes You Beautiful at last year’s show. Thank you as always to our incredible fans and supporters!”
It was revealed earlier today that Selena Gomez is up for two awards for her role in the Wizards of Waverly Place, competing in the Favourite TV actress and Favourite TV show categories at the ceremony on March 23.
Voting opens in 22 categories on nick.com on February 14.
Josh Duhamel will be hosting this year’s event which will be broadcast live from the University of Southern California’s Galen Center.
Speaking of his role at the popular show, the actor said in a statement earlier this year: “Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is a great event that celebrates kids by honouring their opinions and taps into the kid in all of us. I have a lot of secret plans for when I host the awards, but I can tell you I’m excited to lead millions of kids into total crazy fun, chaos… and, of course, endless slime!”
