Underwood on barefoot Grammys performance

Carrie Underwood balanced barefoot on apple boxes during her show-stopping Grammy Awards performance on Sunday night.
The country songstress took to the stage at the 55th annual music ceremony to perform her hits including Two Black Cadillacs and Blown Away.
During her performance, Carrie’s grey floor-sweeping gown began to light up with various images and the blonde beauty has explained the process behind the on-stage spectacle.
“It was all projection and it took a lot of people getting everything just right so the projection wasn’t [off]. I had to stand in the exact same place. I was actually barefoot on apple boxes,” she told ET Online.
“I never sing barefoot and it felt really weird. But they were nice enough to put those little Dr. Scholl’s [insoles] underneath my feet so it… felt good, kind of cool.”
Meanwhile, The-Dream has explained Jay-Z’s remarks about his hat. The rapper made the comments when the pair, along with Frank Ocean, hit the stage to accept Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for their track No Church in the Wild. After The-Dream and Frank had said their respective thank yous, Jay-Z teased his fellow rapper about his “parental advisory” beanie hat which was worn underneath a Boyz N the Hood cap.
“I’d like to thank the swap meet [flea market] for his hat,” Jay said, poking fun at his headwear.
The-Dream doesn’t mind the rap superstar’s on-stage quip though.
“Me and that guy, we was already goofing off the whole night. Jay’s a funny guy, people don’t know that. Of course they’re looking in from national TV and they’re like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe he did that!’ And I’m like, ‘No, I can believe he did that.’ What you may not believe is that I have my own digs that I do all the time, so it’s all good,” he smiled in an interview with MTV News after accepting the gong.
Taylor Swift’s opening Grammys performance has also caused a buzz, leading many to speculate that her energetic performance was a dig at her ex-beau Harry Styles
The songstress took to the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles clad in an all-white circus-themed outfit.
Singing her feel good anthem We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, the star spoke in a British accent and said: “So he calls me up and he’s like, ‘Ah still love you…’ and I’m like, ‘I’m sorry, I’m busy opening up the Grammys… and we are never getting back together!’”
