Emma Stone enjoyed playing a woman who uses her looks to get what she wants from men in her new movie.
The 23-year old actress stars alongside Josh Brolin, Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling in Gangster Squad, which is set in the ’40s. The movie centres around two police officers as they try and keep the mafia out of Los Angeles. Emma has explained how wearing period clothing for her role as Grace Faraday was a big thrill for her.
“I loved to see the transformation every day. I went from me with my freckles to this woman who uses her looks to get what she wants from men,” Emma told British magazine Look.
This is the second movie which Emma has teamed up with Ryan on. The two also worked on 2011’s Crazy, Stupid, Love. The chance to collaborate with Ryan again is something that originally drew Emma to her part in Gangster Squad.
“We got along really well,” Emma explained. “Ryan’s a song and dance man, up for anything so much fun. He’s a great partner.”
Gangster Squad is set to hit cinemas worldwide from this week.
