Carey and Minaj address Idol feud

Mariah Carey declares that she and Nicki Minaj are part of a “passionate panel”.
The singers, who are co-judges alongside Keith Urban and Randy Jackson on American Idol, were asked about their fall out which happened last October.
Mariah and Nicki famously had a blazing row in North Carolina, some of which was captured on video.
But on Tuesday, at a Television Critics Association Tour press conference, ET Online reports that the duo kept things strictly business.
“This is a very passionate panel,” Mariah declared.
“I think there are a lot of strong personalities and starting this process, I thought it was a possibility there could be differences of opinions. The fighting is what it is.
“This is American Idol, it’s bigger than all that. It’s bigger than some stupid trumped up thing. It’s about the next superstar.”
Despite the presence of the rest of the panel and host Ryan Seacrest, most questions were directed at Mariah and Nicki whose Idol debut can be seen when the show airs on January 16.
Nicki insisted the pair were both “professionals” when it came to returning to work after their very public row.
“I say nice things about Mariah all the time,” she laughed.
“I tell her all the time what a fan I am of her. She’s one of my favourite artists of all time. She’s really shaped a generation of singers. To be on a panel with her [is] crazy.”
