The Lumineers want Mumford tour of London

The Lumineers want Mumford and Sons to show them around London when they play next week.

The US alt-folk band are preparing for their first trip to the UK and hoping to hook up with the guys from the folk rockers to show them around.

Drummer Jeremiah Fraites exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ‘’I just saw those guys play at Redrocks festival last week. That was great. We’ve never actually met, but it would be cool to meet those guys, I could Facebook message them, and hopefully meet up but it would be cool to meet them because they’re a similar age to us and they’ve just blown up.

‘’In a very friendly, non competitive way it would be cool to sit down with them have a beer or shoot some pool and hang out. They seemed to become the biggest band in the world almost overnight, it was a really meteoric rise.’’

Jeremiah – who is joined in the group by Wesley Schultz and Neyla Pekarek – is still surprised their track ‘Ho Hey’ was a hit at home, and is still getting used to hearing it on the radio.

He added: ’’I’ve heard ‘Ho Hey’ on the radio in various states in this country, it usually makes me remember playing that song at open mic nights and not many people responding, then now it’s on the radio it’s hard to believe.’’

The Lumineers’ self titled debut album is out now on Decca records and they play a show at the sold out Hoxton Bar and Grill in London next Monday (17.09.12).
