Carrie Underwood hates being compared to Taylor Swift.
The ‘Good Girl’ singer thinks comparisons with fellow American country star Taylor, 22, are unfounded and claims their music and styles are ‘’completely different’’.
Carrie, 29, exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ‘’I feel like we’re definitely completely different artists; that is something that’s so cool about country music because everyone has there own thing.
’’I’m a little bit older than she is and I feel like our music’s completely different and if anyone tries to make any comparisons they really haven’t listened to either one of us.’’
The ‘American Idol’ winner – who wed ice hockey player Mike Fisher in July 2010 – added that ‘Love Story’ hitmaker Taylor has a different approach to her records.
Carrie explained: ‘’Our songs are definitely different. She sings a little bit lighter sometimes and it’s just a difference in our brand of country.’’
The blonde beauty is on a mission to make country music more widely known and celebrates the diversity that new country-pop crossover songs offer.
She said: ‘’For me it’s more exciting than anything if somebody likes me and start listening to country music over other all those other artists.
‘’People want so much ’real country music’, but for me it’s cool that we can bring more people into country music by being different.’’
Carrie is headlining her first ever show in England, playing to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall in London tonight (21.06.12).
