Today MTV reveals the two final artists for MTV World Stage Gothenburg: Eurovision-winner Loreen and pop phenomenon Tove Styrke. Loreen and Tove will together with the previously announced artists Nelly Furtado and B.o.B treat Gothenburg to an unforgettable evening, a concert which later on will be aired to hundreds of millions households across the globe.
Since Swedish singer Loreen completely obliterated her competitors in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Baku on the 26th of May, she has become one of the most sought-after artists in Europe. Her hit song Euphoria is currently topping all track lists throughout Europe. In addition to Euphoria, Loreen will perform brand new material from her upcoming album. Bruce Gillmer is EVP Music, Talent Programming and Events with VIMN and is very excited about Loreen:
- We wanted to give the Swedes and all international visitors the most euphoric start of Midsummer’s as possible, and with Loreen this has been secured. This is the chance for all visitors to together with Loreen, Tove Styrke, Nelly Furtado and B.o.B truly show hundreds of millions of households around the world how a Swedish Midsummer should, and will, start, says Bruce.
Tove Styrke has the last year been very busy with her launch throughout Europe. Her label Sony Music has made her their biggest priority in Germany, and on Friday the 1st of June she put on an amazing performance on the German mega-festival Rock Am Ring. Tove has also performed on Germany’s largest TV-channel RTL. US newspaper The New York Post has listed Tove as one of the most important up and coming artists for 2012. As Tove is on her way of really making it outside of Sweden, and the fact that she is only 19 years old, she fit very well into the concert evening:
- Tove will be the youngest artist in the line-up, and she fits perfectly for our target group, continues Bruce.
