'Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight'Jay-Z ended his V Festival headline gig this Saturday with a touching tribute to Chester Bennington who tragically died last month.
Jay and Chester collaborated on the album Collision Course in 2004. The six track album mashed together huge hits by Jay and Chester’s band Linkin Park.
Towards the end of his V Festival set on Saturday, Jay performed the track Numb/Encore in honor of his late collaborator.
Jay hasn’t performed it live since 2011.
Before launching into the song, Jay shared a few words. He askes that the lights be brought down for a second and encouraged the crowd to “light it up” for Chester: “Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight.”
